Creative problem solver
I love finding ways to make things work better - whether that’s fixing a bug, improving a process, or helping the team run more smoothly.
After growing up in Masterton, Kim (Ngāti Porou) has been based in Wellington and Lower Hutt since leaving Masterton at 18. Her career path has been anything but traditional, starting in supermarkets, cafés, and factory work before moving into customer service, finance, and insurance. Along the way, she became known as the person to go to for solving problems, improving processes, and figuring out how things work.
Before joining ComplyWith, Kim worked in financial services where she led admin and support teams, moved into compliance and operations management, and later stepped into a board-level compliance role. Her work spanned everything from process improvements and training to leading change initiatives and working across complex systems.
At ComplyWith, Kim is part of the Product and Technology team, working across support, systems, and operations. Her days are a mix of handling support requests, keeping projects moving, improving processes, and finding opportunities to automate and simplify how things are done. She enjoys getting into the detail, learning the platform inside out, and tackling the constant puzzle that comes with product and tech work.
Outside of work, Kim is rarely without her headphones and usually has something creative on the go. She spends her time drawing and painting, often inspired by anime and comics, going on bush walks, reading (especially psychology), and keeping up with her film club. She’s a self-confessed nerd, equally at home quoting Lord of the Rings, revisiting Harry Potter, or heading along to a classical concert. She’s also a mum to an 11-year-old who she describes as “the coolest person you’ll ever meet,” and is currently working on a children’s book to encourage kids and their parents to draw.
When Kim’s not at work, she’s usually working on something creative.
